An irregularity in the appearance of fabric consisting of textural or color bars in the direction of the weft. Bar marks can be caused by irregularities in the yarn thickness, uneven dyeing, or the variation of
pick density during the starting and stopping of the loom. Barre effects are sometimes intentionally created.
